Team Spotlight: Ashley Mock, Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) at Silverwood Dental in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
For her continuous drive towards professional development and ongoing support of clinic efficiencies, CDS thanks Ashley Mock for her commitment to our organization.
Tell us about your role at Silverwood Dental and how you got here:
I actually started my dental assisting career just over a year ago, when I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s dental assisting program. I completed my practicum at Silverwood Dental, and was asked to return as a member of their team several months later. I was incredibly excited to return – I’ve had a chance to work with both our corporate and clinical teams since then, and I look forward to continued learning opportunities and chances to develop my leadership skills in the months ahead.
How has being a part of the Silverwood Dental and CDS teams developed your career?
To be honest, I enjoy the fast-paced days that the dental industry is known for. My days at Silverwood are incredible learning experiences for that very reason – from patient care to operational efficiency to clinic management, a career at Silverwood has demonstrated the opportunities that can be available to me as I continue to grow with our practice.
But, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my favourite part of the job: helping patients feel comfortable in a dental office. In the midst of leadership development and management support, working at Silverwood Dental has also given me the opportunity to grow as an assistant, to support our mandate of patient comfort and patient care.
What does being a part of the CDS team mean to you?
Being a part of the CDS team, to me, demonstrates opportunities for development. I’ve had the pleasure of taking up a leadership role at the office, which has involved managing our operations, assisting in the development of our infection prevention and control protocols, and quality assurance – on top of the opportunities I’ve had as I work on my skills as an assistant from day to day. Being a part of CDS means just that: growth and opportunity. And I’m looking forward to continued development in the months ahead.
